Numerical Study on Tide and Tidal Current along Bali Strait, Indonesia using Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Model (FVCOM)

A numerical study was carried out in Bali Strait, Indonesia. Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Model (FVCOM) used to simulate the seawater circulation Strait. The water circulations were forced by four major tidal components (<i>S</i><sub>2</sub>, <i>M</i><sub>2</sub>, <i>K</i><sub>1</sub>, and <i>O</i><sub>1</sub>). Comparisons of surface elevation obtained from both modeling observations show a good result. tide Strait is mixed type with two different ranges one day. moves Indian Sea through narrow strait during flood then rush back ebb tide. In spring tide, an eddy also observed on top strait. simulations that flows tides along sudden change cross-sectional width can be modeled finite volume method based model.
